On this road to accessibility, we had a lot of progress to make. Even though many accessibility criteria are played out at the level of the overall web page (and thus on the side of our publishing clients), we had actions to take directly on our product, used daily by hundreds of thousands of readers. 👩‍💻👨‍💻 We therefore set about reviewing our widgets one by one and optimising them.

How to set up custom filters in Poool Engage?

With Poool Engage's custom filters, you can quickly refine the targeting of your elements.
This feature allows you to apply multiple display/hide rules based on your unique characteristics in addition to all the native conditions available in your Dashboard.

The custom filter lets you use any data that is available on your side (e.g., data layer, database).

In the Dashboard, you can activate the filters with 2 operators: IS (exact value) or CONTAINS (value contained in the filter).

How does it work on the technical side?

From a coding perspective, this requires sending an array of variables/values (in "string" format) from the Engage script configuration using the autoCreate() method.

Example:

engage.autoCreate({filters:['valeur1', 'valeur2','valeur3']}):

There is no limit to the number of values you can include in this array.

What differences are there between user roles?

There are three user roles available in your Poool Dashboard:

Administrator
Editor
Guest

Only the Administrator can activate elements and scenarios.

Admin role

A user with the Administrator role has access to all sections of the Dashboard, both for viewing and editing. They can activate Engage elements and/or Access scenarios.

They can also manage their teams by adding new users and assigning them specific permissions.

Finally, they can create a new application through the Dashboard.

Editor role

A user with the Editor role can view all information on the Dashboard (statistics, scenarios, elements) and modify certain components:

Only textual elements and the specific characteristics of components can be modified. Anything related to design or appearance can only be changed by an Administrator.

Guest role

Users with a Guest role will have read-only access to all information on the Dashboard. It is impossible for them to edit anything.

Creating a form is based around the use of basic components and form fields.

In this article we'll introduce you to the form fields and their settings.

To add a field, simply click on the ⨁ button. You'll then be able to access the "Form Fields" tab where you'll find all available field types.

To access a field's settings, click on the [✏️] icon. You'll then be able to modify the settings in the 3 available tabs:

Settings: field specific settings
Style: modify the field design (background color, spacing etc.)
Responsiveness: manage the compatibility of a form field with screen sizes

The following use case is designed to trigger right after a subscription confirmation, on a dedicated onboarding page. Here are the different steps:
